1 cup | Shore Lunch® Fish Beer Batter Mix |
8 oz | club soda or beer |
2 tsp | black sesame seeds |
1 tsp | soy sauce |
8 oz | shitake mushrooms, cleaned and stemmed |
4 cup | vegetable oil |
Prepared dumpling sauce |
Heat the oil in a large stock pot to 350 ºF.
Add the batter, sesame seeds, and soy sauce to a medium sized mixing bowl. Slowly whisk in the club soda.
Dredge each mushroom into the batter and carefully drop directly into the oil. Fry for 1 minute per side. Using a slotted metal spoon remove the fried mushrooms from the oil to a plate lined with paper towels.
Serve immediately with the dumpling sauce.
